A lil' bit o' fun for St. Patty's Day

The tale of how we tried to catch a Leprechaun and find his pot of gold...

It all started with a play date with friends to make our traps

Then the littles got bored and migrated to the playroom...

While the big girls got busy on crafting

More playing, this time outside with Missy.  Yet again while the mommies craft inside.

The finished product!  Carmen, Heidi's big sis, came later and made quick work and an awesome trap

After the traps were finished, we all had dinner.  Yummy quesadillas and broccoli.  I should have gotten pictures of the dinner and the little girls at the small table but quite frankly I was hungry and the quesadillas were oh so good! 

Finally, it was St. Patty's Day Eve!  Time to "set the trap."  We baited the little guy by leaving gold coins leading up to and on the tissue paper top.  We also set out some Lucky Charms, they're magically delicious and irresistible to Leprechauns.  Now, it's time for bed and see what we find in the morning...

Well....we didn't catch the sneaky guy!  But, we know he was here.  Check out this broken trap...

And all the gold coins we left are gone...

Hmmm...how did he get out....LOOK, he must have had a stash of magic Leprechaun dust and floated right out!  Smart Leprechaun!

The silly Leprechaun left his hat, wonder if he left anything else?

HE DID!  He left us a pot of gold and some gold coins...

Not gold coins, better---CHOCOLATE!!

Even though we didn't catch him this year, it was still worth it for a before breakfast treat of a chocolate gold coin and all the fun we had with friends.  Maybe next year...
